Adam Scott Finds Work-Life Balance in ‘Severance’ Thriller Series

Finding the right balance between work and personal life can be difficult. Many people are expected to leave their luggage at the office door, while others find themselves carrying their work issues home. Breakup, the chilling new series from director Ben Stiller and creator Dan Erickson for Apple TV+, explores what it really means to separate your professional career from your domestic existence.

Adam Scott stars as Mark Scout, a Lumon Industries employee who voluntarily agrees to undergo a separation procedure that surgically separates his memories from work and the outside world. At Lumon’s premises, he only remembers his responsibilities as team leader. At home, he can live his life without worrying about his job. But soon, Mark finds himself at the center of a mystery that forces him to challenge the experimental practices of Lumon Industries. From there things get weird.

Stiller is in charge of directing six episodes, while The best of worldsAoife McArdle directs the other three.

On February 18, the first two episodes of Breakup will come to Apple TV+. New weekly installments will arrive every Friday during its nine-episode season.
