Bear-Glasgow a hotspot for credit unions with Del-One the latest to open a branch

The Bear-Glasgow area has become a hot spot for member-owned credit unions.

Del One The Federal Credit Union late last month held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new Fox Run branch in the mall of the same name on Route 72 and Route 40 (Pulaski Highway). The branch is located at 100 Fox Hunt Drive in Bear.

Earlier, Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union opened a branch at Governor’s Square Mall near Route 40 and near Route 7.

Community Powered Federal Credit Union and Dover Federal Credit Union operated branches along Route 40 for many years.

Del-One FCU President/CEO Ron Baron said, “We are thrilled to now be part of the Bear community. We heard from many members at the grand opening celebration who were extremely happy with our new location. The Bear community already has many Del-One members, and we look forward to serving the business community as well. Led by Branch Manager Lisa Connor, our Fox Run Branch teammates look forward to serving our members and working closely with other Fox Run Mall businesses.

The openings come after PNC closed a long-running branch at Eden Square Shopping Center near Routes 7 and 40, and WSFS closed a supermarket office at the Safeway store in Peoples Plaza Shopping Center near Route 40 and near off road 896, Glasgow.

Del-One Federal Credit Union has $680 million in assets with branches throughout Delaware. Del-One has 75,000 members.
